Mobile tire repair is a convenient alternative to visiting a brick and mortar tire shop. Time and time again we hear horror stories of tire shops overtorquing or undertorquing lug nuts, installing the wrong sized tires, lying to customers, etc. During a mobile service you can meticulously observe what is being done to your tire so that these things do not occur. When we arrive to your vehicle, we will inspect your tire for damage. We will put jack stands underneath the jack points of your car and remove the tire in order for us to inspect it from all sides. During this process, we will be able to determine whether your tire is safe to repair or not. Below are a list of what we can repair.
If there is a small puncture on the tread of your tire, a tire plug can effectively fill in that hole and permanently stop the tire from leaking. If a nail or other sharp object is embedded in the tire, we safely remove the object before applying the plug. We have plugged contractor's trucks that haul thousands of pounds of material to and from jobsites and have never had an issue with the plugged tire.
If your tire is deemed unrepairable then we will install your spare in its place.
After the tire is plugged, we will install the tire back on to the vehicle using its proper torque specification. This step is very important because undertorquing or overtorquing the lug nuts on a tire can lead the tire to potentially fall off the vehicle while in motion.
After the tire is back on to the vehicle, we will air up the tire to its vehicle rated psi and do a final inspection to make sure there is no leak.
